"...Smoking is a sinister form of breath yoga. Many smokers know that the only time they breathe deeply and mindfully, bringing this normally automatic process into the light of consciousness, is when they take a drag on a cigarette. The smoke makes the breath visble, and the acrid heat makes it palpable. A cigarette is simply a forty-cent yoga class, with Darth Vader as the teacher." -Hendrik Hertzberg
As a yogini, and a former smoker, I can tell you, he hit the nail on the head.

The money came today, and now I don't know what to do with it. I don't trust myself to cash it right away. Like someone who visits the grocery store while hungry, I tend to spend unwisely when I am excited. There are visions of spinnings wheels, and food processors and knee-high leather boots dancing through my head.
I will write out a check to Elizabeth, first and foremost, put some of it in savings, consult with Ben, and go from there.

I was riding the bus to work on a Tuesday morning and a man in front of me turned away from his cell phone and toward a stranger and said, "A plane just crashed into the World Trade Center." The image I had in my head was of a little Cessna sticking out of a huge glass window a hundred stories in the air.
