2003 is the year of the Black Sheep. Which I think we can safely assume means it's going to be a great year for Knitters and Spinners. Accordingly, I have ordered a spinning wheel. It will arrive this week.
I have placed a little green rock on top of my computer monitor at work. It is an excellent way of resetting my intentions. Now, whenever I start to freak out about how much my job sucks, I can stare at my rock, and everything falls back into perspective. My boss is a lonely, greedy old man. I just do what I can and collect a paycheck. My life is outside this place.
I am suffering from the January doldrums. It is official. I am a wuss. Rain and gray skies are finally getting to me. I spent my first two winters in Oregon shooting my mouth off about my imperviousness to rain and gray skies. Anything is better than sub-zero temperatures and snow drifts up to your ass, I reasoned. Sadly, I am now completely acclimated. Gray skies are bringing me down, I start whining if it drops below forty degrees. The fact that Ben and I are still on opposite schedules and I hate my job isn't helping my decidedly un-sunny disposition. However, it does help a little to hear of the weather they're having back home. Hee hee. I feel a bit better now.
